We had stayed at a different hotel 81, so I had high hopes, but to my horror, I was given a terrible room. The air-conditioning was controlled by calling the front desk, dusty, and tiny bugs crawling around. It was so hot we had cold showers throughout the night as the air conditioning was a hole in celling that would turn on and off. It felt like I was in prison camp. Did not look like photos

The two room given to us had small ants crawling on the desk and the other room inside the bathroom sink. When we took a shower in the first room they gave us, the water went out the room and flooded the foyer infront of the room. So, we had to requet for better rooms. The toilet and the shower does not have a separation. So, when you take a shower, the toilet will get wet. There was no fridge to put your drinks to cool. The floor was dirty and wornout. For the money spent in accommodation in this hotel is considerably higher but quality and hygiene does not reflect it. The owner of this hotel should put more attention on hygiene and quality and not just rent the room. so, if your are just staying in Singapore for 3 days better to get a good quality value for money hotel, which has good clean shower and toilets. No ants crawling.

Following a business trip in KL, I traveled to Singapore on invitation by a former colleague who is also a very good friend and stayed in Hotel 81 Heritage. It's an excellent hotel, value-for-money; the location was very accessible with various shops and food places within the same block, including MRT station. Hotel staff were very courteous, professional, and helpful. Highly recommended.

DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. We got there and they put us in a no window, low ceiling, basement type of room. When I asked for a different room, they gave me one on the 3rd floor that smelled of pure smoke/cigarettes, the windows in the room where sealed on the bottom so it was impossible to open, disgusting fridge, dirty sheets on the bed and wet/hairy bathroom. We just stayed the first night because it was to late to book a different hotel. Even though we had two more nights booked, we left in the next morning. YES they gave our money back BUT the night I waisted looking for other hotels, the fact that I had to pay double for another place since it was last minute, the terrible night that I had to spend in there sleeping with a mask on, the bottles of air freshener that I bought to try to kill the smell… they didn’t give it all back so no, I don’t recommend this hotel at all and I wish someone had written a honest review like that before I booked it.

POSITIVE Lady at the reception. Other man not sure understand enough English :) NEGATIVE 1. Before coming to Singapore I sent a message to them and request a super clean room because it's my birthday trip. Moreover, I told them I also work and come from Phu Quoc island where is many tourists. They didn't reply my message and it means they didn't follow up. 2. When I arrive to the hotel around 11:30 and the lady at the reception was nice to give us a room but who know? A stain on the bed and the shower look like not ready with the bathtub, and I immediately back to reception, I told the man please double check carefully before I go back. After that, when I back in the evening around 9:00 pm, the stain still be there. What??? The water for 4 nites is just one until I asked him for one more blanket and changed the bed, he brought to me 4 water :) and I told that man pls tell to the housekeeping that I would be outside in 30 mins and they can come to make it later. 3. The housekeeping, 5 mins later come to my room ??? And I need to call reception again and so on the problem which I didnt walk to talk to them anymore. 4. With the price is nearly $400 for 4 nites isn't fair for the room, the service and everything that you have done for my stay. TERRIBLE! 5. If somebody want to get relax and comfortable stay pls think many times before going to this decision. Otherwise, if you want to stay with the stain, dirty all of the room or stupid like me, you can stay. 6. LOCATION: Nicoll mrt around 5 - 7 mins and Bugis around 15 mins. Pls dont say near the hotel because that's a distance and this street is very bored with some of massage in the evening and in the day nothing is interested. Bonus: they dont have any bin in toilet, just a bag :)))))) All in all, this is the worst hotel that I've stay in my life. When you are in other country, if you want a cheap or expensive hotel, resort you will get the quality like its but here NO. In Phu Quoc, you book $30 or more you will receive the service or at least something enough in the room but HOTEL 81 is bad always to me. DONT WANT TO COME BACK!!!
